SDS formats can vary from source to source within a country depending on national requirements, but a globally harmonized system (GHS) exists, which has been internationally agreed for substances and mixtures.
The GHS follows a 16 section format which follows across REACH (CLP) and OSHA formats.
An SDS is required for all manufacturers, at the point of manufacturer for employees, for shipping for emergency service handling and for customers who are purchasing the chemical mixtures.
SDS must be in the correct format and language for the country in which the chemical mixture is being marketed in.
